An evening in downtown Pittsburgh. If you are planning on spending a day as a tourist either going to a Pirates game, or Steelers, and Penguins if you’re a hockey fan you’ll have plenty to do in the mean time checking out the town. On days when I travel to downtown I always like to get some bbq at a restaurant called Pork & Beans located at 136 6th St, Pittsburgh PA 15222 (Directions Here). It’s not far from the people bridge where you will cross over in order to get into the baseball stadium at PNC park. I recommend checking out the Pittsburgh Zoo if you have more than a few hours. You will find a large verity of animals and it’s not far from downtown. It’s located just outside downtown on the northeast corner at 7340 Butler St at Highland Park. If you are planning to attend a Steelers game, which anyone in Pittsburgh would recommend you can get to it easily in downtown Pittsburgh. You just head to 100 Art Rooney Ave at Heinz Field. There are a ton of good restaurants and bars located just around the field to enjoy before and after a game. Last but not least for sports fans is a chance to catch a good hockey game at PPG Paints Arena also located in the downtown area located at 5th Avenue. It has a ton of good bars and restaurants in the immediate area as well. I recommend Steelhead Brasserie & Wine Bar located at 112 Washington Pl. These are just some of my recommendations while spending time in Pittsburgh and attending different types of sporting events. I will post some later blogs about different thing other just juts sporting evening in the future.
